- Pot roast
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Shortening or oil
- 1 cup water
- Potatoes (cut)
- Baby carrots
- Onion (cut)

Instructions
- Heat oil or shortening in pan. Salt and pepper meat to taste and brown on all sides.
- Add 1 cup water, potatoes, onion, carrots, and potatoes. Simmer for 2–3 hours.
