Homemade Pizza

This makes delicious homemade pizza! The dough is very yummy.

Prep Time

  • 20 minutes to prep
  • 1 ½ hours to rise
  • 12–20 minutes to cook

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ to 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 envelope active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ cups water at 110°
  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp olive oil

Tools

  • Mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Pizza pan

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in the bowl (I use a Kitchen Aid). Slowly add the water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Beat the mixture until the dough forms a ball. If the dough is sticky, add flour until the dough forms a solid ball.
  2. Lightly flour a flaw surface. Gently knead the dough until it is smooth and firm.
  3. Use the remaining 2 teaspoons of olive oil to grease a large bowl and Saran wrap. Add the dough to bowl and cover with the Saran wrap. Let sit in a warm area for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°.
  5. Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces. Let each piece rest for 10 minutes. Lightly flour a flat surface and roll out until thin. Add desired toppings.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes. Reduce the heat to 375° and spin the pizza to bake evenly front and back. Bake for 1–2 minute increments and remove when golden brown.
