Marinated Chicken

This is a great recipe for slightly tangy and tender chicken.

Prep Time

  • 15 minutes to prep food
  • 2+ hours to marinate
  • 40 minutes to cook in the oven or 12 minutes to grill

Ingredients

  • ¼ soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
  • 4–5 chicken breasts

Tools

  • Mixing bowl
  • Gallon-sized Ziploc bag
  • For Grill: skewers
  • For Oven: tin foil & cookie sheet
  • Measuring cups/spoons

Instructions

Mix together all marinade ingredients. Cube chicken (2-inch cubes). Mix chicken into marinade until covered. Either cover bowl or pour mixture into Ziploc bag. Refrigerate for 1–2 hours (or more).

For grill: Skewer chicken. Grill on each side for 5–6 minutes.

For oven: Preheat oven to 375. Cover cookie sheet with tin foil. Spread the chicken evenly on the cookie sheet. Cook for 40 minutes or until cooked through but still tender.
